How to Delete a Piece of Work

  • Mar 5
  • 2 min read

If you no longer need an assessment, you can delete it from your class page.

This permanently removes the assessment along with all of its associated data, so it's worth making sure you definitely no longer need it before going ahead.

How to Delete an Assessment

  1. From your Dashboard, click on the class that contains the assessment you'd like to delete. This will take you to your Class Page.

  2. Find the assessment in your assessment list.

  3. Click the three-dot menu (⋯) on the right-hand side of the assessment row.

  4. From the dropdown menu, click "Delete". This option appears in red at the bottom of the menu.

  5. A confirmation window will appear asking if you're sure. It will show the message: "This will permanently delete the assessment and all associated grades, learning objectives, and feedback."

  6. If the assessment already has marking data, you'll also see a summary of how much data will be removed — for example, "This assessment has 12 grade(s), 3 objective(s), and 12 feedback entry(ies)."

  7. If you're sure, click "Delete Assessment" to confirm. If you change your mind, click "Cancel" to go back without deleting anything.

What Happens When You Delete an Assessment

Deleting an assessment is permanent and cannot be undone. The following data will be removed:

  • The assessment itself

  • All learning objectives linked to the assessment

  • All grades that have been recorded against those objectives

  • All written feedback for students on that assessment

Your marking documents (mark schemes) will not be deleted — they are stored separately and can still be used with other assessments.

If you think you might need the data in the future, consider keeping the assessment rather than deleting it.
