Is my voice recorded or stored?

1 min read

MarkMate doesn't store any recordings of your voice. Your browser turns your speech into text, and only that text is sent to MarkMate to be written up as feedback.

What happens to what you say

  1. While you talk, your browser's own speech recognition turns your voice into text.

  2. When you stop, that text is sent to MarkMate.

  3. MarkMate uses the text to write and place your feedback.

  4. The feedback appears in the boxes for you to check, change and save.

Tips

  • Avoid saying anything you wouldn't write in a student's feedback. Everything you say ends up as text.

  • The microphone is only on while you're recording, when you can see the timer and the red stop button.
