How to edit a grade set

You can rename a grade set, rename or re-colour its levels, change their order, or add new ones at any time, even if you're already using it.


Steps

  1. Click the round button with your initials (top right), then Settings.

  2. Click Grade sets.

  3. Click the grade set's name, or click ••• next to it and choose Edit grade set.

  4. Make your changes.

  5. Click Save changes.


What's safe to change

  • ✅ Renaming the grade set or a level. Marks you've already given are kept and show the new name.

  • ✅ Changing a level's colour or abbreviation.

  • ✅ Adding new levels.

  • ✅ Reordering levels.


What you can't change

  • ❌ Removing a level that has already been used to mark work. MarkMate stops you, with a message naming the level. You can remove a level that hasn't been used yet.


Tip: At the top of the edit page, MarkMate tells you how many assessments use this grade set. Changes apply to all of them.
