EdTech Startup Raises £1.25m Before UK Launch
Here at Mark Mate, we love EdTech and EdTech companies. EdTech startup Kinteract are getting ready to launch in the UK, and they’ve managed to raise £1.25m in funding! This truly is a phenomenal achievement, and something that should be celebrated across the entire EdTech space. The funding for the innovative and interactive portable learning record and real-time report system comes from Pembroke VCT and Blackfinch Group.
What Is Kinteract?
Kinteract is a digital education platform. It promotes learning and development by enabling fast feedback between teachers, students and parents. Among other things, its intuitive programme helps teachers create learning plans for individual students. It also identifies potential problems, while keeping all parties updated on progress. Thanks to this massive investment, their existing user base of 80 schools globally is surely about to grow! Some of the most important, and impressive features of Kinteract are:
- Kinteract connects to other classroom learning tools.
- It provides instant dialogue between parents, students and teachers.
- It works with any language, age or curriculum.
- Its analytical tools make data-driven choices.
- Utilise hashtags to find achievements easily.
Kinteract is headed up by a hugely dedicated team. Between them, they have decades of experience in direct delivery of schooling and educational apps.
Gloucester’s Blackfinch Group are investing £750,000 in the startup. Oakley Capital’s subsidiary Pembroke VCT are investing a further £500,000. When announcing the investments, Kinteract’s CEO Shehzad Najib said:
Despite the investment going into edtech, only 3% of the market is currently digitised. We aim to address the challenges facing schools of teacher workload, preparing students for jobs of the future and becoming data driven. By delivering Kinteract through a social technology experience we have witnessed significant upward trends in communication and collaboration between teachers, students and parents. This is a significant investment and one which will support our continued commitment to changing learning and ultimately improving learner outcomes through personalised pathways.
How Parents Can Benefit From Kinteract
Kinterat have put a huge focus on parents. One of their main missions is to ‘bring parents into the classroom’. Their easy-to-use interface makes all work available instantly, and ensures students (and parents) will never miss a deadline again. Parents can always keep an eye on their child’s progress thanks to milestones and achievements being recorded. This also gives parents the ability to add moments from their own phone or tablet.
Photo, video and real-time updates make parents feel like they’re a part of the classroom. This personalised feedback massively raises a child’s potential. Kinteract’s shorter feedback cycles really helps parents work with teachers to maximise student’s abilities.
Has your school already started using Kinteract? Do you use an alternative that you think more people should know about? We’d love to hear from you in the comments!
